Swinger clubs in Portugal

15 places

Swinger clubs, also called lifestyle or liberal clubs, are private venues for couples and adults who want to meet other couples in a discreet setting: a bar, a dance floor, lounge areas and private rooms. Portugal has around fifteen, in and around Lisbon and Porto, in the Algarve and in a few central cities.

They are registered businesses with paid entry and their own rules. None sells sexual services: what happens inside is between consenting adults.

How it works

Entry is by couple; single men are admitted only on specific nights or by invitation, and single women almost always enter free. Many clubs ask for prior registration or a membership card, and some open only by appointment or at weekends. A first visit usually starts with a chat at the door about the rules.

The golden rule is the same everywhere: no means no. Nobody is obliged to do anything, and watching is as accepted as joining in. Phones stay away. Dress is evening wear; some themed nights ask for a mask, lingerie or a colour code.

Prices

Entry per couple runs from 30 to 60 euros, often with drinks included or a minimum spend. Special events and parties in private houses have their own pricing.

Before you go

Read the rules on the club's website, book if asked, and go early on a first visit, while the place is still calm. This guide lists clubs with a public address and presence; each listing says when it was verified.

Frequently asked questions

Can a single man get into a swinger club?

It depends on the club and the night. Most reserve certain nights for couples and run specific singles nights. Check the calendar on the club's website or call.

How much does a swinger club cost?

Per couple, between 30 and 60 euros, often with drinks included. Single women almost always enter free. Special events are priced separately.

Do I have to take part?

No. You can go just to see the atmosphere, have a drink and dance. The rule in every club is consent: no means no.

Are swinger clubs legal in Portugal?

Yes. They are registered businesses that charge entry and drinks. What is illegal is pimping, profiting from someone else's prostitution; swinger clubs do not sell sexual services.

What should I wear?

Smart evening wear. Many themed nights set a code: mask, lingerie, black, white. It is always on the club's website or the event page.
